Hallo dakota! First at all, thank´s for the help about skinproblems and the coulors of Amstaff. I´m try to learn about the types and lines on Amstaff, but I can tell that my female is after Kar-on´s Dragonheart, he´s an SUCH(Champion in Sweden). But I could see in the registration certificate that there´s lot of AMCH in it. I think my female are a terrier type. My male is after "Paco", i believe he´s a bull type. I prefere the bulltype because I´m think "Paco" is beautiful. Are Cheyenne´s breeding the bulltype I like that dogs. About the coulors I like to be a little different in taste, in Sweden the most Amstaffs I´m seen often red/white. My Amstaff are; female=white with brindle signs and the male=black and fawn(told before) , i like that. Black/white is beautiful to. Carina

When we look at a certain type we like or dislike , the character is very important. The breed has been bred with good temperaments , and thats important to us as serious breeders.
For us the white rock we got was the temperament we liked , even when this changed , we had the pleasure to be able and use the good temperament this 'line 'gave us. But she was not good enough , we wanted more , better movement and less tight inbreeds. So outcrossing my dogs , but not too far was the answer , and if i look back it works. A great temperament and a good drive , isnt sure with every amstaff , but we get close, and thats the way we like to stay breeding in the future.
so now that we have a few dogs within the same type and close enough in line , we can surely have a bit of our own..but we are still far from what we are breeding for. Our future in italy is important , have more litters isnt what we plan , but keeping the best ourselves is. We have been selling to many good dogs , while we shall need some of them ourselves to be able to stay in the breed at the same level or even better.

For me, I prefer the Terrier type simply because it lends to more athleticism all around. I enjoy the look of the Bully type, but find they have a harder time with jumps and endurance overall.

I most like the bull type, i find that the terrier type is too small in the face, a rather smaller head. I call it terrierface. A good example is Ch. X-pert JD's Jerry Lee or Xpert red cloud (the head type) Paco is bull type. If you ask me you also have ast's which are too bulltype like the SIERRA lines (that my opinion) It looks as those are too big, heavy, What's their workabbility I always ask myself A good example of that is If you talk character they talk about three different types (read it once in a amstaff magazine) the white rock, the xpert and the tex Is this correct? The picture I used: I find this dog too heavy, too big, too how to explain in english well as though he can't walk a mile because of his heavy build figure. As though this dog can't do agility or hard running. I find that an ast has to have a good health and a good figure (so sport is possible) More the type of sonic or Dingo or Paco and Sting with game and spirit. To name other dogs i like well you saw my list. Dakota Dakota

I prefer a more terrier type but my Am Staff now is bully. He is slower, less athletic than my APBTs(sort of like a GSD when compared to a Malinois ) but still loves to work and since I am doing obedience/SchH his type doesn't affect him all that much..if we were doing Ring however the jumping would be a problem. As for colour..my favorites are dark ones..black and dark brindles..but for me there is no such thing as a bad color on a good working dog

Well, I like a good looking well proportioned dog... I guess you could say I like the looks of some dogs out there, Big head, Big chest not so tall etc, but in the end, my favorite kind of dog would be the dog that looked like it possesed the original features that this breed was meant to have... functionality, athletic etc... no some heavy boned slow poke. Do I have a dog like this? Nope, but it would probably be hard to find a dog that fits this description anymore... So far there's one dog that I've seen that in my mind looks closest to this type of dog and that is "Grant" from Hearthagold Amstaff's, owned by Aimee Schantz (sp?). I'm sure there are more dogs out there that come close to the look they were supposed to have... I'd love to see pics or links to pics. Here's a link to pics of Grant. www.odnarb.com/grant.htmlI had to opportunity to meet this dog... whew... talk about energy!

Good temperament in a nice strong body thats all i need in a dog. I think dingo has all that , and its all natural on him. Then this male has to produce good as well , otherwise he is just one of many.
