Hello and welcome to our forum ,
When you give your pup a good socialisation and feel that its going well enough , a weekly pratize will be enough. It is always good for a young dog to be around others of the same age or older. The socialisation now is very important , the first months of a dogs life is so important that it makes or brakes the way the dogs rest of his life can be.

Hai Kyuss, When you're not sure how to socialise your dog, I advise you to go to an obedience school. At first, just like John said, all the different dogs overthere, strange people touching him etc, is really good for the young dog! (Part of socialising) The trainers can help you with socialising your dog. Than, a important part, when you're "working" with your dog, you'll get a band (hope you understand what I mean..) between owner-dog. That's so important!! So please also play and train your dog regular!! It should be fun working with your dog, and the dog likes a happy owner!! Good luck and keep us informed?! Greetz, Mo

Hi kyuss,
Have always in your mind that its always much much easier to prevent a problem than change a already existed bad behavior. One common problem I have seen is that I have meet to many adult amstaff males showing too much aggression to other male dogs (my opinion). I dont mean that they must love or play with maledogs, but they must be quiet and calm with them near around. Aggression between dogs is also hereditarily (its easy to see the difference between different breeds) and I wish that breeders thought a little bit more of that in there breeding programs. Its give our breed a bad reputation and its not fun for the owner either. But of course theres a lot we can do as owner to reduce the problem. I think its very important as John says that its good to the dog to be around other safe and kind dogs. Let him him also be around different breeds of dogs. Some breeds look really strange, no tail, no ears, walk strange etc. Protect your dog from bad dogs, its your job as a good leader. Do never let your dog feel that he must do it by himself. Learn your dog take eyecontact with you and always "beg" you to be allowed to salute other dogs, run to the doors when people are coming and other "hot" situation for a dog.
Its also important to play with you dog. All dogs are not playful, but you can "wake it up" when they are young. A dog who are a "rewardfreak" combinated with workingability is a dream to work with when its older. That was just a few advices from me, but of course theres a lot of other things you can do.
I wish you good luch with your dog Maria
