Indeed it is sad, that no more AST's are involved by ipo or other dogsports in the country.
AS by chance the new magazine here found in the letterbox is representing an ast as partner of a jogging man. He and his best mate took second place in the finals.
Two AMstaffs in france which are the police-dogs of two policemen.
One rescue dog in france.
But that is also it. Not enough (to my opinion) ast's are used or allowed in dogsporting clubs.
It is hard for us to be accepted by other dogowners even by other dog-trainers.
When some dog-schools don't even allow our breed to puppy-lessons.
indeed as many of us agree, we have a special breed and we are special people and not in high amount representing ast-owners with dogsports-spirit
I find that we as ast owners must do all things twice or three times before we are taken serious. It is like we have to give more than the double before other people with dogs except us for what we are-people with lovely dogs with a hugh will to please, the strenght to carry on and the power to show that our dogs are worth loving them and they are capable doing dogsports on high level.
If an sheperd gets 50/100 it is more than ok, but i do get the feeling they don't take us serious unless our dogs gets 95/100 only then they will give us a try.
It is a shame that this "hardness" to carry on is not appreciated by other dogowners or trainers not even by rescue teams or people which train labradors for therapy dog or blind-guard.
Only the labrador is capable of doing this they say.
Therefore I will do my ultimate best to show that AST's are worth it, they are just too clever and eager in learning to be only housepets !!!
