I have two SBTs so I'm used to uncropped ears. Apart from that - did anyone of you think of the reduced communication between dogs with cropped ears? I strongly believe that my dogs interest in the ability communicating with their surrounding is worth a lot more than my liking in a specific "look". It gets really bad when you see dogs with cropped ears and tails, they do have problems sometimes because other dogs can't read them.

Dakota, the dog look very fun! ;D
A stupid? question: If I prefere smaller(better) ears when I surch for a male to my female when planning a litter, how will I see the size(type) of the ears if they are cropped?

By the way... I like cropped ears, it´s beatiful, my dogs are not cropped, forbidden in Sweden. My Amstaffs speak very much with their ears, can cropped dogs speak with their ears as good as that? Stupid question again... Carina

Hello Carina, I have a female Amstaff with cropped ears, and a male that is uncropped. My female uses her ears a lot more than the male, and I can easily tell which mood she is in by looking at her ears even though they are cropped. I personally think an ear cropped dog gets a totally different 'look' than one with natural ears, but if the natural ears are correct and small it is just as nice. -Ingunn-

Back to the ears. I just have one litter of Amstaff with five pups. I follow this five wonderful dogs interesting. Two of them was in my home last week, one of the other I visit for maybe two weeks ago. The last two I get photos on. First of all I of course follow their mentalhealth, and I´m very interested on their ears. Today they are a little more than one year old. Four of the dogs have good ears, but one of them have standing ears, can it be change? carina

My opinons is to not crop , i had 2 rottweilers before and i would never crop there tails. It is illegal here tho also. I live in Sweden.
Bad thing though is that some people brake there tail saying it was an accident just to be able to crop it. Which is much more cruel then letting a vet do it.
Im against it in general though, dont like giving pain to puppies.
