hello carina what do you mean by earinflammation? Does the dogs have cropped ears or not? I do know from John if I'm not mistaken that the ast or pit in blue can have more problems with the skin. I found some guidance in a book also: Some colors may tend to have more problems than others: blue, chocolate or liver, and cream, may be more susceptible to skin worries than others. feeding is important, some ingredients are said to produce rashes or hot spots in some dogs and even in some breeds, washing your dog too often promote a dry coat, flaky skin In addition poor housing and poorly maintained hygiene can contribute to skin problems Stress and allergies to common houdehold chemicals can cause skin problems. Hope this helps CARINA dakota

Hallo Dakota! Thank you for the answer. The dogs I talk about have no cropped=cut? ears, with earinflammation I meant in the ear where they listen ;D I think you know Cheyenne American Gigolo "Paco", one of the dog have the same colour as him. What´s that colour named? Is it Fawn or Bleufawn?Cream? About the colour I belive that John says, my male is mostly black-no skin problem and my female mostly white- sensitive skin. Carina

Hi all ,
Yes paco was bred by us , and kept with us untill he was ready to move to his owners in norway. After a while paco was sold to people in sweden , and he is father now for two litters , one with the norweagins and one with the sweeds.
The color paco has is fawn , the dark colors in fawn come from the blue pigmentation in the hair.
I know what you mean kim with skinproblems - in the past they said that blue colored dogs have more skinproblems in th breed then any other color. As you know my male sonic is blue as it can gets , but his skin is super..health and shin(e)y from the start.
Thats about it ;-)

For skinproblems such as demodex , i dont think its color related. But strange enough , if we had any skin problems like demodex , it has only been with the black and white dogs , never with any other color. When is a allergy or demodex , most skinproblems are small and can be treathed easily.

Hey folks! My pit/amst mix has skin problems as well, yes his ears are cropped as well as his other two brothers. But, Sampson aka Sam, is the ony one that has this rugged, red looking dermatis looking skin and ear problems. I have discovered a ear solution called BLUE POWDER on the Internet that has worked great on him. I ordered one ingredient from the pharmacy and the others I got off the shelf. ANYONE experiencing this same skin problem in their dog, can offer advice, would be greatly appreicated. Thanks

Hey Folks!
Anyone ever experience their dog leg shaking when he/she is sitting still or slightly bent? My kid's mom had this problem, even though it didn't affect her in any way I could see.

Most skinproblems such as demodex are easy to threat , your local vet will help you with it , its a bit of a pain in the butt , but its threatable.
We have had two times skinproblems , both times on black and white - but ive seen much worse and again after a good threatment it was gone.
One of the biggest problem nowerdays is a allergy , dogs do seem to get them more often - but thats just a visite to your vet , and make a good investiagtion on whats the exact allergy.
Good luck
