Weightpulling is forbidden in holland , i know that there is a american bulldog club that does do weightpulling of some sort. They have the weels on a rail , to stay outof problems with the rules. I like to see it , i think its just another way to have fun , the dogs love it and its great to watch.

Well,
Does anyone ownes the video of the weightpulling were an amstaff or pitbull have pulled a car (or was it something else)
What I wanted to know about weightpulling is, how good are the pits and amstaffs in this sport?
It needs some great training, not? When is known on which time an amstaff is in his best for pulling.
Here in Belgium there is a club which does weightpulling also, I don't know if it's forbidden or not. The only thing i know is that the weights are on wheels.
Maybe a good start to look for some information considering laws on weightpulling.
John why is it forbidden in holland?

Here is a great site on weight pull training. www.apbtconformation.com/weight_pulling.htmIt does not really take much training. It will take a lot of conditioning to get the dog to PULL BIG WEIGHT. My boy went to a pull last month and did not pull well. Well we worked him on draging weight. We would walk 1 1/2 miles every other day with a LARGE chain ( about 50 pounds) when u drag weight it actually weighs more then if you carry it. Well he has built muscle tone for sure. We pulled him over the weekend and he did MUCH better. He pulled 1,000 pounds, this gave him his 1st qualifying pull towrd his pulling title. I know he can do more but he is not focused on me. He prefers to look around. So the next step on our training will be focus. I will train him to listen to my command. \He is Obed trained but seems to forget it all on the weight pull track In the USA we have Snow pulling, the RAIL system that you described and Cart witch is on a dirt, or carpet track. I wonder why they would outlaw weight pulling. You do not force the dog to do anything they do not wish to...

What with the health condition of the dogs. When you here about larger breeds they do get sometimes problems with there ligaments. Like human I suppose they have to be warmed up before training or pulling, so If you please can you explain how a training or championchip goes ? Is there a warming up (like people in sports)
