"Wildanimaltrack"-strange word to use, sounds like we´re tracking lions or somethings... ;D We just lay bloodtracks and the finish is a leg from a "Bambi", this is very useful in real life when the hunters miss the shot and the animal will run in to the wood badly hurt. The dogs will find it. Earlier I always bring my female to stable, she was a very good ratkiller, so John try it! And now! My confession: Do you know what my female done to day? She collect 0 (zero)! points at trackingtest. And she stop her show eating up the whole "Bambileg" with hair, nails and everything... The point is, she start very well for maybe 200 meters(track is about 400-600 meters) then she just stop. Use her nose, and could from a very long way feel the leg. Why take corners, when you can go straight? ;D ;D Carina We will come back! (Daschhounds in my house have the championtitles in this kind of tracking). Carina

What a shame that you didnint take any points, but better luck next time . If it helps I can tell you that no amstaff has past in Sweden. I have been thinking of it with my amstaff but he has unfourtenly (after an "accedent" with fireworks ) developed fear of gunshouts. Maybe I will try with my next dog that I probebly will have in spring/summer ;D I think it calls Schweiss-track in english.

Pluto, I promise my female will make this at last. She is very good at it, better with the nose than my huntingdogs. Next time I will start her maybe she pick full points, she will start her "bleeding" soon and it´s not recommended start then, they do a lot of "crazy" things... ;D People I talk with, thought she will get the highest point at the earlier test, she found the animalleg with no problem... ;D I know you do obedience with Pluto, and I promised to start competitions with my Amstaffs. My problem is with tracking and obedience: I can´t be serious for 100%, we have so much fun when training, I can´t stop laughing ;D For exempel: Jump over "hinder"- flying so high...flying away. Apport- throwing the apport to me everytime with the mouth from one meter... When find the animalleg- she "dance" with it and throw it in the air... It´s hard to tell in words, but you should see. Sometimes I feel I don´t care about the competitions, we just have fun. But OK I will train to be a little more serious, then we will come. And yes, go on with your new dog when it comes- I have find out that Amstaffs is allowed get the Campiontitle in Schweiss-Tacking. Not every breed can have that title. Come on, let´s make it! Open class- have gunshot. Not the first test (anlag), you can start it with Pluto. Carina

That sounds really great carina - i wish i could see it. Im having a hard time at a dutch staffforum , about the ipo and schutzhund sports , but im glad to see /read your postings. At least you use your dogs more then just couchpotatoes :-)) People grrrrrrrrrr LOL
They asked what people thought about ipo in a poll , but they dont have a clue on whats going on there ...they see the dog grabbing the sleeve ..thats all they can associate ipo with - poor them !

I talk with my Workingdog Club about IPO/Schutzhund. It seems they just train "watching", "security", I don´t know the english word... My male should be exellent for IPO/Schutzhund, that´s what I believe. I just read about it... Victoria a member on this forum invite me to watch when her group train, they train 15 miles away from me and I haven´t got the time yet, but now I knew were she train . By the way, two of my pups( one year now) from my litterare interested to follow me to Workingdog Club, then we are four Amstaffs training there... Carina

That would be great when your pups come and train there with you. If you have any pictures to show us , please do.
well there are just a few people that dont understand ipo or schutzhund at all , but the worst thing is that they dont want to listen as well ...nor take the time to read about it.
Its there problem not mine , there are more like those , which is a pity for the breed. But we cant change people , not those kind anyway.

Thank´s John selling him! To be a breeder can be "hopless", when I have pups I want to keep everyone by my self. But as we all know that´s not possible. Carina

Yes indeed Paco is a great dog, on picture but i think he is even greater as you know him in person. Carina , can you post some pictures from paco and the dogs you mean? i think you said that you had a son of paco, can you also post that picture? As John tells that dutch forum on ipo poll is a stupid waste of time , some just won't listen what john has to say, they even say that john promotes biting amstaffs, lol. I did get the change to see Bonita on appel and I must say that I have all the trust in John's way of ipo training. If dutch people have problems with that well , it ' s their problem then, they just don't want to listen to what john was saying. grrrr luckaly this board has more working dogs then patoto-couches and fire-sitters
