Hi!
Well like I said most of AST in Slovenia are from a show line. Anyhow we just have a couple of good breeders, all the rest are breeding without pedigree. But overall, dogs are to heavy and have displasia, backbone problems...not at all work material.
Not a lot of people works with them, and even if they do its just basic obedience. Defense work is prohibited by law. We have one girl who does agility with a small female.
Like I wrote before, I have been looking for a dog all over Slovenia since last summer, without any luck. Really my main concern is how they are built. A god working dog should be lean and fit and not at all blocky like dogs here. I understand that they are breed only for appearance (bigger is better) but still, a certain breed should improve over years not other way around. I do get frustrated sometimes thinking how ignorant some breeders are.
So still a plead to all, Im still looking for a good working dog!
Anyhow this is in short. By for now.

Hi maja ,
I know exactly what you mean , and i do agree that people think the bigger the better , allthough i have two bigger males. If we breed bigger dogs without looking to the proportions as i do , they will get bigger and bigger. When some people see my really standard bitches they say ...are those staff bulls !@?!@?
So for me its no longer a matter of what others think or like ..ive found the way already.
